CALIFORNIA PROPOSITION 65 NOTICE
This Proposition 65 (Prop 65) warning is for California consumers in order to comply with the State of California.
Proposition 65 is a warning to Californians about significant exposures to chemicals that cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. These chemicals may be present in outer packaging (e.g. stickers or dyes), inner packaging (e.g. certain types of styrofoam), byproducts of chemical processes (e.g. motor vehicle exhaust), or a product itself for example.
Proposition 65, officially known as the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, protects the State of California’s drinking water sources from being contaminated with chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm, and requires businesses to inform Californians about exposures to such chemicals.
Proposition 65 enables Californians to make informed decisions about their exposures to these chemicals. It requires California to publish a list of chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. This list, which must be updated at least once a year, has grown to include approximately 900 chemicals since it was first published in 1987.
