Accessibility Statement

Accessibility at The Dildo Hub

Last updated:

At The Dildo Hub, we believe everyone deserves to shop, learn, and browse with dignity, equality, comfort, and independence. We’re committed to making our website accessible and usable for all people, including those using assistive technologies.

Our Accessibility Commitment

We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA conformance and follow WAI-ARIA best practices. Accessibility is an ongoing priority embedded in our design, development, and content workflows.

What we focus on

  • Keyboard access: All primary functionality is usable with a keyboard (no trapped focus; visible focus indicators).
  • Text & contrast: Targeting at least 4.5:1 contrast for text and scalable typography.
  • Structure & semantics: Proper headings, landmarks, labels, and alternative text for meaningful navigation by screen readers.
  • Motion & flashing: Avoiding content that flashes more than three times per second; honoring reduced-motion preferences.
  • Forms & errors: Inputs have associated labels, clear instructions, and accessible error messaging.
  • Media: Captions/transcripts where applicable; descriptive alt text for non-decorative imagery.
  • Responsive design: Content reflows across devices without loss of functionality.

Note: Accessibility is a journey. Some areas may still be improving, but we’re actively working through a prioritized roadmap.

How We Test & Improve

  • Automated checks: Regular scans with industry-standard tools as part of our CI/CD workflow.
  • Manual audits: Expert reviews with keyboard-only navigation and screen readers (NVDA/JAWS/VoiceOver) on modern browsers.
  • User feedback: We encourage feedback from disabled users and integrate it into our backlog.
  • Training: Periodic training on inclusive design, accessible content authoring, and QA.

Known Limitations & Third-Party Content

Some third-party components (e.g., embedded payment, maps, or review widgets) may present accessibility constraints beyond our direct control. We continuously evaluate alternatives, provide workarounds when possible, and contact vendors to advocate for improvements.

Requesting Assistance or Alternative Formats

If you experience a barrier on our site or need content in an alternative format (e.g., large print, plain text, or audio transcript), we’ll help.

When you contact us, please include the page URL, your browser/assistive technology, and a brief description of the issue. We strive to respond within 2 business days.

Feedback & Escalation

If our initial response doesn’t resolve the issue, request an escalation to our accessibility lead. We’ll review within 5 business days, propose next steps, and outline a resolution path.

Accessibility Shortcuts

  • Skip to content: A skip link appears at the top of each page for keyboard and screen reader users.
  • Headings & landmarks: Logical heading order (H1→H2→H3…) and landmarks (header, nav, main, footer) support quick navigation.
  • Focus management: Dialogs and menus manage focus appropriately and return focus after closing.

Policy Governance

  • Standard: WCAG 2.2 Level AA (W3C WAI)
  • Scope: thedildohub.com and owned subdomains
  • Owner: Accessibility Lead, Product & Engineering
  • Review cadence: At least quarterly or after significant releases
