Avoid

Using it very cold or warm without testing it on your wrist first.
Abrasive cleaners on anodised aluminium.
Using an aluminium toy once its coating has chipped.

The two-finger rule

Two fingers should slide under the strap. Check in every 10 to 20 minutes and release at numbness or sharp pain. With metal cuffs, set the double lock and keep a spare key in reach.

Choose 0.1 to 0.2 in smaller than you would in silicone. It holds warmth and cold well: warm it in water or cool it, and test on your wrist before use.
