How does a bulb penis pump work? A penis pump is a cylinder that seals against the body around the penis. When air is drawn out, the vacuum pulls the penis outward so it fills more of the cylinder. On the Amp Up, you remove the air by squeezing a hand bulb joined to the cylinder by a short tube. Each squeeze adds a little suction, so you build it up gradually by feel. A quick-release valve lets the air back in at once when you want to stop.

Amp Up: a bulb pump with a measuring cylinder

The Amp Up Penis Pump with Bulb is a simple manual pump. A clear SAN plastic cylinder, marked with a measuring scale, connects through 8.5 inches of tubing to a hand bulb. Squeezing the bulb draws air out and builds suction, and the scale lets you see the effect as it happens.

A soft silicone sleeve at the opening forms the airtight seal against the body. The sleeve is latex-free. If the suction becomes too strong, the quick-release valve drops the pressure immediately. The cylinder has an inner length of 8.8 inches and an inner diameter of 2.3 inches.

Best for: For men trying a penis pump for the first time or anyone who prefers a simple manual design. The bulb gives fine, one-handed control over the suction. The 2.3 inch inner diameter is roomy, which suits most sizes.

How to use

Fit the silicone sleeve to the open end of the cylinder and attach the tubing and bulb. Rub water-based lubricant onto the sleeve opening and the penis. Slide in through the sleeve and press the cylinder against your body so it seals. Squeeze the bulb two or three times, pause, and see how it feels. Add suction slowly and watch the scale on the cylinder. Keep the session short. To finish, press the quick-release valve and wait for the pressure to drop before you remove the cylinder. Stop straight away if you feel pain or numbness.

Care

  • Use water-based lubricant, which is safe for the silicone sleeve.
  • Take the sleeve off and wash it and the cylinder with warm water and mild soap.
  • Do not let water get into the bulb or tubing. Wipe them with a damp cloth.
  • Dry every part completely before putting the pump back together.
  • Store it somewhere dry where the clear cylinder will not be scratched or cracked.

Frequently asked questions

Will I fit in the cylinder?

The cylinder has an inner length of 8.8 inches and an inner diameter of 2.3 inches. The silicone sleeve opening is 0.8 inches before it stretches and expands to let you in. That is a generous size for most users.

What is the difference between the bulb and pull handle versions?

The cylinder and sleeve are the same size. This version builds suction with a squeeze bulb measuring 4.9 by 2 by 2 inches on 8.5 inches of tubing. The other uses an 8.2 inch pull-rod pump on 8.8 inches of tubing.

What is the quick-release valve for?

It lets air back into the cylinder at once. If the suction feels too strong, or when you have finished, press the valve and the pressure drops. Never pull the cylinder off while it is still under vacuum.

Does it have a pressure gauge?

No. The Amp Up has a measuring scale on the cylinder but no gauge, so you judge the suction by feel. The Pump Up Gauge models in the same range add a built-in pressure gauge if you want a reading.

Which lubricant should I use?

A water-based lubricant. The sleeve is silicone, and silicone-based lubricant can damage it. A little on the sleeve helps you slide in and improves the seal against the body. Avoid oils as well.
