Why put a padlock on a collar or cuffs? A buckle can be opened by the wearer. A padlock through the buckle loop or D-ring means the collar or cuff stays closed until the keyholder opens it. For many couples the point is symbolic: the lock marks an agreement between them. It also has a practical side in scenes where the wearer should not be able to slip out. Either way, the person holding the key takes on the duty of staying close and keeping that key within reach.
Brass Collar Padlock: a small lock for collars and cuffs
The Master Series Brass Collar Padlock is a compact padlock made for bondage gear. Its 0.12 inch shackle passes through the D-ring or buckle loop found on most leather and nylon collars, cuffs and restraint straps, and holds the buckle closed. The body is 0.82 inches long and 0.42 inches wide, small enough to sit flat against a collar without adding bulk.
It is built from iron and copper with a copper-colored finish, so it has some weight for its size. Two keys are included. The lock is not keyed alike, which means the keys from one padlock will not open another.
Best for: Anyone who wants to add a lock to a collar, wrist cuffs, ankle cuffs or a restraint strap they already own. It also works on a gear bag. It suits couples who use a locked collar as part of their dynamic.

How to use
Check that the D-ring or buckle loop on your collar or cuff has an opening wider than the 0.12 inch shackle. Try both keys before the first scene so you know the lock opens smoothly. Buckle the collar with room for two fingers underneath, pass the shackle through the loop and press it shut. Keep one key on the keyholder and the other in a fixed, known place nearby. Never leave a locked-in person alone, and keep safety shears around in case a key goes missing.
Care
- Wipe the lock dry after use, since sweat and moisture can tarnish the metal.
- Store it in a dry location to prevent oxidation.
- Keep the two keys in separate places so one is always available.
- Do not wear it in the shower or bath.

Frequently asked questions
Will it fit my collar?
The shackle is 0.12 inches thick and fits most standard D-rings and buckle loops on leather and nylon collars. Measure the inner opening of your collar's D-ring or loop before ordering to make sure the shackle will pass through.
Is a collar included?
No. You get the padlock and two keys only. It is meant to be added to a collar, a set of cuffs or a restraint strap that you already have or buy separately.
Can I buy several locks that share a key?
No. These padlocks are not keyed alike. Each lock has its own unique pair of keys, so if you buy more than one you will need to keep track of which keys belong to which lock.
Is it actually brass?
The name says brass, but the maker lists the materials as iron and copper with a copper finish. Expect a copper or brass-toned look. It is solid metal, not plated plastic. Keep it dry to prevent oxidation.
