How do door restraints work without any hardware? Each strap ends in a short plastic tube with a cap. You hang the strap over the top of the door, or slide it underneath, with the tube on the far side. When the door is shut, the tube is too thick to pull through the gap, so the strap is anchored. The cuffs hang on your side of the door. Nothing is screwed in, and the set comes away as soon as the door opens.
Door Jam Cuffs turn any door into a restraint point
Door Jam Cuffs from Sportsheets are a pair of restraints that anchor in a closed door. There is nothing to install. Slip the two straps over the door and shut it, and about 8.5 in of each strap is left to attach to a cuff. Place them at the top of the door for wrists, or under the door for ankles.
The set has two wrist or ankle cuffs, each attached to its own door strap. They are made from Velboa fabric and polypropylene webbing, with hook and loop closures, nickel-free hardware and a plastic tube and cap as the anchor.
Best for: For couples who want standing restraint without drilling into walls or buying furniture. Renters and travelers will like that the set packs flat and, according to the store's earlier listing, leaves no marks on the door.

How to use
Choose a solid door that closes firmly and, if possible, opens away from the person being restrained. Drape each strap over the top of the door with the plastic tube on the far side, spaced about shoulder width apart. Close the door and lock it so nobody can open it by accident. Tug each strap to check it holds. Wrap a cuff around each wrist and press the hook and loop shut, leaving room for a finger. The cuffs are for holding position, not for hanging body weight. Lower the arms if hands tingle or go cold.
Care
- Spot clean the cuffs and webbing with a damp cloth and mild soap.
- Air dry completely before storing.
- Close the hook and loop tabs so they do not snag the fabric.
- Check the straps, stitching and plastic tubes for wear before each use.
- Store rolled up in a dry place.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to install anything?
No. The straps go over or under the door and are held when it closes. There are no screws or brackets, and the store's earlier listing notes the straps will not leave marks on the door.
Can they be used for ankles?
Yes. The same cuffs fit wrists or ankles. Slide the straps under the door for ankles, or over the top for wrists.
How much strap is there between door and cuff?
Approximately 8.5 in of strap attaches to each cuff once the strap is anchored in the door.
Can they support my full weight?
No weight rating is given in the product listing. Treat them as position restraints only. Keep feet on the floor and do not hang or pull down hard on the straps.
What are they made of?
Velboa fabric, polypropylene webbing, hook and loop closures, nickel-free hardware, and a plastic tube and cap on each strap.
