Is a USB-C powered wand the same as a rechargeable wand? No. A rechargeable wand carries a battery, runs for a set time and then needs charging. The Doxy 3 USB-C has no battery. It draws power through its cable for as long as it is plugged into a USB-C power source, so the strength stays constant and there is nothing to charge beforehand. The trade-off is that you stay connected to a cord, which is why Doxy fits a long one. A USB power adapter is not supplied, so you need your own.
Doxy 3 USB-C: corded wand power from a USB-C plug
The Doxy 3 USB-C is the lighter, plastic-bodied member of Doxy's compact wand family. The body measures 11 inches with a 1.8 inch silicone head, and it takes its power through a USB-C cable instead of a battery or a country-specific mains plug. That makes it a corded wand you can use anywhere a USB-C power adapter works, with steady output from the first minute to the last.
The body is ABS plastic, which keeps the weight down compared with Doxy's metal wands, and the silicone head detaches so it can be cleaned properly. Power is adjusted with buttons on the handle, and there is a pulse mode alongside the continuous setting. The cable is about 10 feet long, enough to reach a bed from most wall sockets.
Best for: People who want corded wand strength in a smaller, lighter body and would rather not think about battery life. It is an external massager for the clitoris, the penis and tired muscles, and its USB-C lead makes it a practical choice for anyone who travels between countries.

How to use
Connect the wand's USB-C lead to a USB-C power adapter (not supplied) and plug the adapter into the wall. Switch the wand on and start at the lowest power, then use the buttons to raise it once you know how strong it feels. Rest the head against the area you want to massage, through underwear first if direct contact is too much. A little water-based lubricant on the head helps it glide. Try the pulse mode when you want a break from constant vibration. Switch off and unplug the wand when you finish.
Care
- Use water-based lubricant only on the silicone head.
- Unplug the wand before cleaning it.
- Wipe the head with a damp cloth and mild soap or toy cleaner, then dry it. The wand is not waterproof, so keep the body and cable away from water.
- Never boil the wand or put any part of it in a dishwasher.
- Store it dry with the cable loosely coiled, away from other silicone toys.

Frequently asked questions
Does the Doxy 3 USB-C have a battery?
No. It is a corded wand that takes its power through the USB-C cable while you use it. There is no charging time and no run time limit, but it does need to stay plugged in to work.
Is a wall adapter included?
Retailer listings state that a plug adapter is not included. You need a USB-C power adapter of your own. Doxy does not publish a wattage figure on the sources we checked, so use a good quality adapter from a known brand.
How is it different from the Doxy Die Cast 3?
Both share the same compact size, with an 11 inch body and a 1.8 inch head. The Die Cast 3 has a cast metal body and a mains plug-top power supply. The Doxy 3 USB-C has an ABS plastic body, which makes it lighter, and it is powered by USB-C.
Can I use it in the bath or shower?
No. It is a powered, corded device and none of the sources we checked give it a water resistance rating. Keep it away from water and clean the head with a damp cloth instead of rinsing the whole wand.
Is it suitable for a first wand?
Yes, provided you start low. Wands are stronger than most small vibrators, so begin on the lowest setting and try it through fabric first. The lighter plastic body and simple button controls make it an easy wand to get used to.
