Why choose a plug-in wand over a cordless one? A plug-in wand takes its power from the wall, so the motor is not limited by what a battery can supply. It delivers the same strength at the end of a session as at the start, and it never needs charging before use. Cordless wands are easier to carry around and have no lead to manage, but they run for a set time. If you mainly use a wand at home and want consistent strength, a plug-in model is the simpler choice.
Doxy Die Cast 3: full wand power in a compact metal body
The Doxy Die Cast 3 is the small version of Doxy's metal wand. Its cast metal body is 11 inches long with a 1.8 inch silicone head, and it weighs 12.3 oz, which makes it far easier to hold and aim than a full-size wand. Three buttons take the motor from about 3,000 rpm up to about 9,000 rpm, and holding the power button for three seconds starts an escalating pulse mode.
The head unscrews, so it can be swapped for one of the attachments Nexus makes for this wand, and each attachment screws on firmly instead of stretching over the head. Power comes from a plug-top supply that feeds the wand low-voltage direct current, with plug adapters for the US, UK, EU and Australia or New Zealand, through a cable about 10 feet long.
Best for: Anyone who wants strong, steady wand vibration without the bulk of a full-size model. It is made for external use on the clitoris, the penis and sore muscles, and the smaller head suits people who like to aim the vibration at one spot.

How to use
Fit the US adapter to the plug-top power supply, connect the cable to the wand and plug it in. Press the power button to start on the lowest speed, then use the plus and minus buttons to find the level you like. Hold the head against the area you want to massage. If direct contact feels too strong, try it through underwear or a towel first. For the pulse mode, press and hold the power button for three seconds. Add a little water-based lubricant to the head if you want more glide. Unplug the wand when you are done.
Care
- Use water-based lubricant only on the silicone head.
- Unplug the wand before you clean it or change the head.
- Wipe the head and body with a damp cloth and mild soap or toy cleaner, then dry them. The wand is not waterproof.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Doxy Die Cast 3 rechargeable?
No. This is the plug-in model, so it runs from the wall through its plug-top power supply and has no battery. The cordless version of the same wand is the Die Cast 3R. Choose the plug-in if you want constant power with no charging.
How does it compare with a full-size Doxy wand?
It is noticeably smaller and lighter. The body is 11 inches long with a 1.8 inch head and weighs 12.3 oz, so it is easier to hold in one hand and to aim at a small area. The speed range still reaches about 9,000 rpm.
Will it work on US power?
Yes. The plug-top power supply converts mains power to low-voltage direct current before it reaches the wand, and it comes with adapters for US, UK, EU and Australian or New Zealand sockets, so it can also travel with you.
Which attachments fit it?
The head unscrews so an attachment can be screwed on in its place. Nexus makes a set for this wand, including a rabbit G-spot attachment, a clitoral attachment, a prostate attachment and a stroker. Attachments are sold separately.
Can I use it internally?
Not on its own. The wand is an external massager. If you want internal stimulation, fit one of the screw-on attachments designed for that purpose and use the wand's vibration through it.
