Care and tips for this toy

TPE sleeve

Clean

  1. 1Rinse with warm, not hot, water right after use. Never leave it overnight.
  2. 2Wash the inside with mild unscented soap or toy cleaner, then rinse until no slickness is left.
  3. 3Closed-end sleeve: fill it and squeeze it out several times.

Dry and store

  1. 1Shake it out and air-dry it upright. Allow 5 to 6 hours; open-ended sleeves about 3 to 4.
  2. 2If the inside feels cool to the touch, it is still damp.
  3. 3When bone-dry, dust it lightly with cornstarch or renewal powder and store it in a breathable pouch.

Avoid

  1. Sealing it in plastic, or closing the cap fully, while it is damp. That grows mould.
  2. Alcohol, bleach, dish soap and hot water.
  3. Oil-based lube. Use water-based.

Getting the feel right

About a tablespoon of water-based lube inside plus a dab at the entrance. With a suction cap, start one or two turns open and tighten for more grip.

What does self-lubricating mean on a stroker? A self-lubricating stroker is made from a material that turns slippery when it gets wet. With the Arousing Ale you add a little water or saliva to the canal and the TPE surface becomes slick by itself. That means you can use it without a bottle of lubricant to hand. If you want more glide, or the sleeve starts to feel dry partway through, add a little more water or a few drops of water-based lubricant.

Arousing Ale: a stroker that looks like a beer can

Schag's Arousing Ale is a male masturbator styled as a beer can. The sleeve is super-soft, flexible TPE in a frosted finish. Inside, the canal is ribbed and divided into three chambers, so the feel changes as you move through it. The material is self-lubricating: a little water or saliva is enough to make it slippery.

A suction valve with an air hole lets you control how strong the pull is. The sleeve stretches to fit any shaft size and stays snug as it does. The TPE is free of phthalates, fragrances, paraffins and latex. No batteries are needed.

Best for: For men who want a simple, manual stroker that does not look like a sex toy at first glance. It suits solo use, needs no batteries or charging, and the stretchy sleeve fits any shaft size. The water-activated surface is handy if you dislike messy lubricant.

How to use

Rinse the stroker with warm water before the first use. Wet the opening and the canal with a little water or saliva and work it in with a finger until the surface feels slick. Ease yourself in slowly. Cover the air hole to build suction, or leave it open for a lighter, looser stroke. Squeeze the outside to tighten the grip. If the sleeve begins to drag, add more water or a small amount of water-based lubricant. When you finish, rinse the canal right away and leave it to dry completely.

Care

  • If you add lubricant, use water-based only; oil and silicone lubricants damage TPE.
  • Rinse the canal with warm water and mild soap after every use.
  • Let it air dry fully, inside and out, before putting it away.
  • Do not boil it or use alcohol-based cleaners on the TPE.
  • Store it in a cool, dry place, away from other toys and direct sunlight.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need lubricant with the Arousing Ale?

Not necessarily. The TPE is self-lubricating, so a little water or saliva makes the canal slippery. If you want extra glide you can add a water-based lubricant. Avoid oil-based and silicone-based products, which can break down TPE.

Will it fit me?

The maker says the sleeve fits any shaft size. The TPE is super-soft and flexible, so it stretches around larger sizes and stays snug on smaller ones. No internal length or diameter is given in the product details.

How does the suction control work?

There is an air hole on the stroker. Leave it uncovered and air moves freely, giving a lighter feel. Cover it with a finger and suction builds as you stroke. You can change this at any point during use.

What does the inside feel like?

The canal has three different chambers and a ribbed surface. Each chamber gives a slightly different sensation, and the ribs add texture along the shaft. The material itself is described as soft and flexible.

What is it made of?

It is made of TPE, a soft, stretchy material. The maker states it is free of phthalates, fragrances, paraffins and latex. TPE is porous, so wash it after each use and let it dry completely before storing.
