How does an under the bed restraint system work? A long connector strap slides beneath the mattress, and the weight of the mattress holds it in place. Four restraint straps come off it, each ending in a cuff, and reach up over the edges of the bed. Nothing is screwed in or hooked to the frame, so it works on a bed with no posts or headboard. When you are finished, the straps tuck out of sight or pack away.
Under the Bed Restraint System: bondage for any bed
The Under the Bed Restraint System is the original Sportsheets design for tying a partner to an ordinary bed. It has four adjustable cuffs and four restraint straps, all joined to one connector strap that sits under the mattress. The cuffs hold a partner's arms and legs from the sides, or from the top and bottom of the bed.
It fits any size of mattress and needs no hooks. The straps adjust to the length you want, and setup takes minutes. It also packs small, so it can go with you on a trip.
Best for: For couples who want to try restraint without buying a special bed or fixing hardware to the frame. It suits beginners, and anyone who travels and wants something that works in a hotel room. Agree on a safe word first.

How to use
Lift the mattress and lay the connector strap across the bed base, then lower the mattress onto it. Bring the four restraint straps up over the edges. Pull each one through its adjuster until the cuff sits where your partner's wrist or ankle will be. Fasten the cuffs so they are snug but you can still slip a finger underneath. Agree on a safe word before you begin, check in often, and never leave a restrained person alone. Release the cuffs at once if hands or feet tingle, feel cold or go numb.
Care
- Check the straps, adjusters and cuff closures for wear before each use.
- Wipe the cuffs and straps with a damp cloth and mild soap, then let them air dry.
- Keep the set dry and store it loosely coiled, or leave it flat under the mattress.
- Do not use the straps to lift or suspend a person.
- Keep scissors or a quick way to release the cuffs within reach during play.

Frequently asked questions
Will it fit my bed?
The maker states that it fits any size mattress. The connector strap goes underneath and the restraint straps adjust in length, so no bedposts, headboard or hooks are needed.
What size are the cuffs?
The cuffs adjust to fit from 4 inches to 12 inches around. That range is intended to cover both wrists and ankles. Measure a larger ankle with a tape if you are unsure.
Does it need any tools or fixings?
No. The strap is held in place by the mattress resting on it. There are no hooks to attach, and the maker says it sets up in minutes.
Can I take it traveling?
Yes. It is described as portable and travel-friendly. Because it only needs a mattress, it can be used on a hotel bed and packed away again.
Is it suitable for beginners?
It is a simple way to start with restraint, since the cuffs fasten and release easily. Start with wrists only, use a safe word and keep sessions short at first.
